Changes in the Exam pattern

Till 2017 candidates used to appear for the exam in three sessions, however CBSE- Central Board of Secondary Education had changed the pattern of the exam. All the candidates should appear the exam in two sessions only.

UGC Net exam was Pen and Paper based till the year 2018. It has changed to computer based test (CBT).

Based on the performance of two exams candidates may be given the position of JRF and Assistant professor. 6% candidates clearing the UGC NET exam are declared as the eligible candidates for the post of Assistant professor. Reservation policy applied for this 6% candidates.

NTA provides the free coaching to the UGC NET aspirants.

Paper 1 duration is for 60 minutes

Paper 2 duration is for 120 minutes

Important instructions

UGC NET 2019 exam will be conducted online mode only that is computer based test.

All the candidates will be given one blank sheet and pen or pencil for the rough work, however candidates are advised to carry their pen or pencil to the exam centre.

Candidates should not carry any kind of textual material, Geometry, Pencil Box, Mobile phone, ear phone, Calculator, Slide rules, camera, handbags, watch, log table, purse.

Candidates who have diabetes can carry eatable like sugar tablets, transparent water bottle, fruits to the exam hall. However chocolates, candy, sandwich and other packed food.
