What is PM Kisan?

The government of India has launched a new Central Sector Plan this financial year to increase the income of Small marginal farmers (SMFs). Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan).

The main aim of the PM-KISAN program is to meet the financial needs of Small and Marginal Farmers in acquiring various resources to ensure adequate crop health and adequate production in line with the expected agricultural income at the end of each crop cycle.

It will also prevent SMFs from falling into the clutches of creditors to cover these costs and ensure the sustainability of agricultural activities.

Under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, which is paid in three installments, small farmers will receive Rs. 6,000 a year, while the middle class will benefit from an increase in the current income tax payment in Rs. 2,50,000 lakh to Rs. 5,00,000.

The money is transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account through the Direct Bank transfer.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PMKSN, Prime Minister’s Farmers’ Fund) is an initiative of the Government of India that provides up to ₹6,000 a year to all farmers to support the minimum income.

The program will cost ₹75,000 crores a year and will be operational from December 2019. Each eligible farmer receives Rs. 6,000 per annum in three installments and deposits directly into their bank account.

In the database, the landlord’s name, gender.
Social classification (Scheduled Caste / Scheduled tribes).
Mobile phone number, Aadhaar number, bank account number

Land record details

Aadhar number, Jan Dhan bank account number, and mobile phone number help to identify eligible beneficiaries and inefficient applicants.

Since the scheme is sponsored by the Central Government, the farmers must be citizens of the country.
The area of the land should not exceed 2 hectares.

The below beneficiaries with high economic status will not be able to avail the benefits of the system.

All corporate landowners.
Farmer families having one or more members belonging to the following categories

Past and present holding legislative positions in the Constitution
Past and present Ministers / State and Ex-Ministers / Current Lok Sabha / State Council / State Legislative Councils / State Legislative Councils, Former and Current Mayors of Municipal Corporations, Former and Current Chairmen of Panchayat Districts

All Current or Retired Civil Servants and Employees of Ministries / Offices / Central / State Government Departments and Field Units of Central or National PES and Government / Deputy Offices / Autonomous Institutions as well as Permanent Employees (except Staff) of Specific Institutions Multi-Purpose / IV Class / Category D).

The monthly pension is above Rs.10,000
People who have paid income tax in the previous taxable year.
Professionals such as engineers, accountants, doctors, lawyers, and architects are registered with professional organizations
